Congratulations are in order for one of my fabulous authors, Simon McCleave Author, who has just announced his publishing deal with Avon Books UK!
As an editor, one of the greatest pleasures of the job is seeing your authors go from strength to strength, and it’s been an utter privilege watching Simon’s star rise higher and higher. It seems like a lifetime ago that we started work on The Snowdonia Killings back in 2019, and now book ten in the series, The Seine River Killings comes out later this week (bookmark your diaries, folks!). All that hard work has certainly paid off! Very proud editor, indeed!
The Bookseller announcement teased that Simon’s new series is set on the Welsh island of Anglesey and features former DI Laura Hart, an experienced hostage and crisis negotiator who gave up her successful career in the police following a personal tragedy. In the first book in the series, she finds that the quiet life she sought after moving to Anglesey is hard to find as a drugs gang take passengers onboard a sightseeing cruise hostage, including Laura’s own son.
McCleave said: “I’m so excited to be working with the Avon team. Their vision for my new Anglesey crime series is brilliant and I knew from the very beginning that my work was in good hands. I can’t wait for my readers to let me know what they think.”
I can’t wait to see what Simon does next! And if you haven’t read the DI Ruth Hunter Snowdonia series, what are you waiting for?
